Today, Ryan Samii joins Harvey from Hebbia, where he was instrumental in building and scaling the company’s legal vertical. His five years as an M&A associate with Paul Hastings, together with his experience founding a legal tech startup, give him a rare blend of rigorous legal training and entrepreneurial drive. We’re delighted to welcome him to Harvey. His arrival as Head of Product Innovation marks the beginning of a broader, long-term investment in deeply partnering with - and hiring from - the innovation and legal tech community that is steering the legal profession through the AI era.
Over the last several years, the innovation community in legal has undergone a major transformation. Innovation teams are now mission-critical to how firms navigate AI: continuously assessing technology needs, tracking an ever-expanding vendor landscape, setting and enforcing responsible-AI standards, driving measurable innovation outcomes, and developing the technical talent required to keep firms competitive across practices and tenure levels.
We are fortunate to spend so much time with Chief Innovation Officers and to work daily with their teams globally. Yet as Harvey has scaled, we haven’t invested enough in hiring directly from this community or ensuring that our own team reflects the depth of change-management and technology-adoption expertise that innovation leaders bring - and we are changing that.
Under Ryan’s organization, we are building a team of Innovation Product Managers whose mandate is to partner deeply with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure Harvey meaningfully incorporates the feedback, standards, and design principles championed by Innovation organizations. In parallel, John Haddock’s organization is adding innovation partners to embed that same commitment into our go-to-market motion, ensuring we set Harvey customers up for success from Pilot to Partnership and at every stage in between. John’s Legal Product Specialists will also include members dedicated exclusively to collaborating with Innovation teams.
Collectively, these investments reflect a deep, multi-year commitment to being a trusted partner to Innovation teams as they lead their firms through the AI transformation - and to ensuring Harvey’s own team reflects the expertise required to support them. We’re excited for the impact these teams will drive and remain committed to helping Innovation leaders succeed with Harvey globally.
