Harvey Partners with Legalscape to Bring Japanese Legal Intelligence to Cross-Border Teams
Today, Harvey announced a data partnership with Legalscape, Japan's leading legal data & AI company . The partnership integrates “Legal Intelligence by Legalscape” — spanning Japanese statutes, case law, and administrative guidelines alongside commentaries and practical literature — giving legal teams outside of Japan a direct route to the sources Japanese practitioners rely on.
The partnership expands Harvey's growing network of 1,000+ global legal data sources, reinforcing its position as the unified platform where lawyers can access, search, and cite legal knowledge from around the world. With Legalscape's trusted Japanese legal research AI integrated into Harvey, global lawyers will be able to access Japanese legal information alongside internal knowledge, precedent documents, and other integrated data sources without switching tools or losing context.
Example use cases include:
- Inbound investment and M&A: Advising clients on Japanese corporate and commercial law in acquisitions, joint ventures, and market entry.
- Cross-border disputes: Researching Japanese case law and procedure where Japanese parties or governing law are involved.
- Regulatory diligence: Understanding Japanese regulatory requirements and administrative guidelines when assessing Japanese targets or operations.
- Working with local counsel: Arriving at conversations with Japanese counsel already grounded in the relevant sources.
“Legal Intelligence by Legalscape” will be available through Harvey in the coming months. Customers interested in early access can contact their Harvey account team.
