Introducing :Harvey:’s Responsible Business Program

At Harvey, we help the world’s best legal and professional services teams transform how they work with AI. But in addition to being an AI platform organizations can trust, it’s imperative that Harvey articulates how we plan to scale as a company with a focus on ethics, integrity, inclusion, governance, and sustainability. That’s why we are launching Harvey’s Responsible Business Program.

In Year 1, that includes hiring a full-time leader for this function as a steward of our global efforts in this space. We look forward to welcoming a Head of Responsible Business at Harvey in mid-April. This leader will be based in London and will focus both on Harvey’s commitments in this space as well as supporting our customers’ initiatives.

We’ve heard from many of our existing clients and partners that they want to understand how we can support their goals around sustainability, social responsibility, ethics, and pro bono work. We will start our program by listening and engaging. We plan to meet 1:1 and in small groups with an array of existing firms, enterprises, and other stakeholders. This will help shape our long-term plans and short-term goals to help ensure Harvey is at the forefront of these critical topics.

While the rest of the program will evolve with our listening tour and be formalized with input from our customers, there are a few components of the program we know will be included:

• Our commitment to shaping the future of law through the Harvey Law Schools Program, which provides free access to Harvey for students and faculty at educational institutions across the United States, the UK, Spain, and Australia, with new schools joining every month.
• Security, trust, and privacy governance: Our dedicated Security and Privacy teams have helped ensure the highest possible commitment to security and trust in our approach to building and scaling Harvey. Our articulation of Responsible Business will reflect both the work done to date, and how our Security, Privacy, and Legal teams partner in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape to ensure Harvey is compliant, forward-thinking, and intentional in our approach to trust, safety, and privacy standards. As part of this work, Harvey has already committed to participating in the LITIG AI Transparency Charter with other key industry partners and customers.
• Partnering with our vendors to identify opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of Harvey’s platform with an eye toward sustainability.

We look forward to sharing more on this program and partnering deeply with customers and partners to make this a critical priority for Harvey globally.
