“Generative AI is increasingly part of the legal profession, and it is critical for our students to gain direct experience with these tools. Partnering with Harvey aids us in our ongoing mission to integrate important technology into our classrooms and clinics, and it will give our faculty and students the opportunity to explore how AI can be applied in legal work.”

Harvey is excited to announce the expansion of its law school alliance program, initially launched last month. We’re thrilled to collaborate with this next wave of AI-forward institutions to enhance our existing ecosystem and to continue to embed Generative AI in legal education.
Collaborators include University of Chicago Law School, University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Vanderbilt Law School, WashU Law, Boston University School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, BYU Law School, University of Georgia School of Law, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Baylor University School of Law, and SMU Dedman School of Law. These schools join Stanford Law School, NYU School of Law, University of Michigan Law School, UCLA School of Law, The University of Texas School of Law, and Notre Dame Law School as part of the Harvey Law School ecosystem.
The focus of the program remains equipping the next generation of lawyers with essential Generative AI skills and resources to prepare them for legal practice. Students, faculty, and administrators will have access to the Harvey platform, and the Harvey team will support co-creation of Generative AI curricula and learning content throughout the 2025-26 academic year. The Harvey team will also begin facilitating collaborations between interested schools to share best practice and learnings.
“Penn Carey Law’s approach to AI is grounded in the belief that future leaders of the profession must be both technologically fluent and ethically grounded, prepared to harness these powerful tools and critically examine their implications for justice,” says Sophia Lee, Dean and Bernard G. Segal Professor of Law at Penn Carey Law. “This innovative collaboration with Harvey AI will ensure our students are ready not just to keep pace with change, but to lead it.”
“We’re thrilled to see Harvey for Law Schools expanding,” said John Haddock, Harvey Chief Business Officer. “We’ve received resoundingly positive feedback on this program from our largest law firm customers who are eager to see students learning cutting edge generative AI technology. The law schools partnering with Harvey are paving the way for Generative AI transformation in the legal industry, and we are excited to join them in investing in their students, faculty, staff, and alumni.”
From using effective prompts to improve case preparation to reducing time preparing documents and data sources, learning how to use Harvey and general AI knowledge will help students get both more efficient and effective as they prepare for careers in law.
